Laminated glass (Triplex)

Laminated glass consists of two or more glasses, which are glued together with elastic and resistant to tearing foil (EVA – Ethylene Vinyl Acetate or PVB – Polyvinyl Butyral).

The main properties of laminated glass are safety and security. When one of the composite glasses is broken, the laminated glass is not broken into small pieces but remains whole protected from the intermediate foil. This significantly reduces the risk of injury. Through a variety of configurations in addition to safety can be achieved resistance against burglary, breakout or gunshots. For any resistance is required the production of laminated glass with strictly defined in the production standards requirements for thickness and type of glass, as well as the number of internal layers.

Another typical feature is the ability of laminated glass to suppress the noise. In this way, through incorporation into glazing, it is effectively used for noise insulation in the glazing of construction sites.

The laminated glass has the following main applications:

  • Railings
  • In housing sector – by incorporation in a glazing to prevent burglary and noise, for glass screens, stairs, railings, etc.
  • Glass floors and stairs
  • Shields
  • Roofing and facade glazing
