Low-emission glass / K-glass, G-glass, Low-E, Planitherm Total +, CLIMACUARD SOLAR / is used for accommodation with northern and eastern exposure. Their use is not recommended for southern and western exposure.
It consists of a silver layer (applied by the pyrolysis method) in a 2-layer tin oxide sandwich for better adhesion to the glass. It allows heat to penetrate into the premises, prevents it from coming out. Combined with white float glass, a 24 mm glazing achieves thermal insulation values of Ug = 1.4 W/m2K (just to compare, a standard double glazing with 2 float plain white glasses has a heat insulation value of 2.8 W/m2K – or twice less ineffective). The light transmittance of K glazing is 79%. It is not suitable for southern premises since this premises heat up very much during the summer months.
